Grooming Fancy Paws for Success

THE TENANT

Susan Hatch began grooming dogs in junior high school, and she never stopped – not in high school, college, or as she dabbled in various careers. Finally, she decided to open her own business, and in the summer of 2012 she and her husband, Tim, contacted Paster about opening a pet grooming studio in our Lakeville Crossings Shopping Center in Lakeville, Minnesota.

THE SITUATION

While Susan had plenty of customers from her work as an independent dog groomer, she had no experience in transforming a basic vanilla box into a functional, attractive retail space. What she did have, however, was an offer of assistance from Paster's in-house Project and Construction Manager, Jim Everson, who has been helping our tenants design and build out their spaces for over 20 years.

THE RESULTS

In September of 2014 Paster completed the partition walls, electric and plumbing hook-ups for the grooming and bathing stations. Susan and Tim finished the interior painting, decorating and station set-up themselves, and they were open for business a few short weeks later. So far, so great: Fancy Paws already has five groomers on staff, along with a full roster of appointments.
